FESTIVAL DAY: September 14, 2013
Fuller Lodge and Lawn Downtown Los Alamos, New Mexico
The Next Big Idea Festival Day (Saturday, September 14th) is a family-friendly event, highlighting Los Alamos’ unique, creative and scientific heritage. It is designed to inspire, illuminate and educate through science, technology, arts, food and music. And, its FREE!
The festival features an interactive line-up of exhibitors. Last year the Next Big Idea Festival has hosted exhibitor's such as Los Alamos National Laboratories, First Robotics, National Instruments, Kraz-E-Science, Santa Fe Children's Museum, Sandia National Lab, Los Alamos Police Department Bomb Squad, Los Alamos Visualization Associates and Procter & Gamble's CHeAPARRAL 2J-2 corvette. There was a designated Kid's Activity Area with hands-on science fun, pet area, 'trashion' (recycle fashion show), entertainment - three bands, food, pet area, immersive dome, muon tracker, and much, much more all located at Fuller Lodge and lawn. STEM Student Day (Friday, September 13th) is designed to stimulate interest and inspire young people about possible futures in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
